Dying of Thirst?

From his innermost being will flow rivers of LIVING water.

From his innermost being will flow rivers of LIVING water.

Yeshua answered and said to her, “Everyone who shall drink from these waters shall thirst again; But everyone who shall drink of the waters that I will give him shall not thirst for eternity, but those waters that I give him shall be springs of waters in him that shall spring up into eternal life.” John 4:13-14

When the soul enters darkness, it often strives to bandage up the exterior while neglecting the internal trauma. The art of avoidance is refusing to meet our problems head-on. Rather than treat the issue, suppression causes our emotions to accumulate and overflow, often in detrimental ways that lead to ramifications in our lives and those closest to us.

We must uproot the weeds which suffocate the ‘eye’ of understanding. (Our conscience or ‘inner man’ which discerns spiritual realities, right from wrong) But the lamp of the body is the eye; therefore if your eye shall be sound, your whole body also will be illuminated. The gospel acts as a salve to our wounds. The Holy Spirit is often called the comforter, for it consoles us on a deeper level than even a brother or sister can. It is the spring from which we drink and are satisfied. Not for a season, but all of eternity.

When the grace of the Holy Spirit enters a soul and is established there, it gushes forth more powerfully than any other spring; it neither ceases, dries up, nor is exhausted. And the Savior, to signify this inexhaustible gift of grace, calls it a spring and a torrent; He also calls it gushing water, to indicate its force and impetus.
— John Chrysostom

Our God is magnificent, His grace all-powerful.

Invite wisdom in, dine with her, for the knowledge of Christ is sweeter than hyssop, more fertile than the land of milk and honey. The rock of the Israelites, which gushed forth with living water, is Jesus. When we say His name and meditate on His Word, the temple of the Lord (our bodies) permeates with joy, and our prayer and praise act as incense offered up to the Most High. God is the one who sustains us through trials and each bout with suffering. Have you leaned into the Lord or attempted to flee? Psalm 139 tells us wherever we go; the Lord is there. He is omnipresent; our attempts to hide are in vain.

Recall God’s promise often, “I am with you every day, even unto the end of time.”

The LORD is my shepherd, I shall not be in want. he restores my soul. He guides me in paths of righteousness for his name's sake. Even though I walk through the valley of the shadow of death, I will fear no evil, for you are with me; your rod and your staff, they comfort me. Psalm 23

“The secret of victory is to recognize the Conqueror within and the adversary as a conquered foe…. Satan has power only when he can make us dread him. He flees before the victorious faith and holy confidence”
